Warm and muggy Monday

It will be a warm and muggy Monday afternoon, with highs expected to reach the upper 80s and low 90s under mostly sunny skies. Cloud cover will increase this evening, leading to mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies overnight. Lows will drop into the upper 60s, with an isolated chance of a stray evening shower.

Highs will remain in the upper 80s through Tuesday before dropping to the low-to-mid 80s on Wednesday. These more seasonal temperatures will persist through Saturday before warming up again on Sunday. Due to increased moisture, lows will stay in the mid-to-upper 60s throughout the week.

Rain chances increase Tuesday as a line of thunderstorms moves through the area during the afternoon and evening. A few storms may become strong to severe in our northwestern counties, with hail and damaging wind gusts as the primary concerns. A level 1 out of 5 severe weather risk is in place as a result. The tornado threat remains minimal.

Thunderstorm chances will continue through the rest of the week, bringing much-needed relief to local drought conditions. Please keep an umbrella or rain jacket handy from Tuesday onward.
